What the HLAA is All About

The Hoosier Llama & Alpaca Association (HLAA) was founded in 1992 to offer members education, the sharing of information, and to promote the public awareness of llamas in our communities.

The HLAA offers something for every lama owner and offers activities throughout the year such as shows, educational clinics, meetings, social events, and youth events. We have several committees to assure the association has something for everyone – Youth & 4-H, Education, Shows, Fiber, Fundraising, Membership, Marketing, and Communications/Advertising. This is a member’s organization and everyone is invited to participate in whichever area they may have an interest in.

To keep in touch with everyone, the HLAA also offers an active up-to-date website and Facebook page. The association also sends out frequent “lama tips” to keep members informed of immediate health issues, farm helps, and news of events.

The association strives to support and promote our youth members as well as our adult members. We award two annual scholarships each year to graduating high school seniors and The Earl Wells Memorial Award is awarded annually to one of our members.
